CAMEL provides researchers access to expertise and new technology for acquiring spatial data, as well as access to a growing body of spatial data spanning the modern Middle East, ancient Near East, and beyond. Moreover CAMEL provides cartographic services for members of the university community as well as academics from other institutions. As a central repository for this data, CAMEL can reduce purchasing costs, speed up data access, and allow researchers to more easily expand their research horizons beyond their area of interest.

In map-making, the CAMEL Lab will work closely with the commissioner to ensure that maps are completed on time and in accordance with the commissioner’s specifications and standards.
